Concert hall membership card for live music venues, in the Wallet
A music venue run as a members’ club has to check memberships at the door on the loudest, darkest and busiest night of the week. A concert hall membership card in the Wallet lights up on the member’s phone, shows the plan and the end date, and is scanned in a second by whoever is on the door.

What the door crew sees on a gig night
The card uses the venue’s logo and colours and displays the member’s name, a number, the plan and the date it runs to. Plans are for you to set, for example Member at €40 and Member + at €90 a year. A member who upgrades during the season sees the plan change on the card; a membership that is not renewed expires on its date. The door crew scans the QR code with a phone, without a dedicated reader. What each plan includes, such as early access to tickets or the members’ bar, is decided and announced by the venue.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Member | €40 |
| Member + | €90 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Live club · Backstage · Presales · Members’ bar.
Three real situations
Doors at eight, queue on the pavement
Members show their card along with their concert ticket. The card is scanned by one person with a phone, so the queue keeps moving and the box office hatch stays free for people buying on the night.
Presale announcements to members
When a show goes on presale for members, you know who they are: the people with a current card. You send the announcement by your usual newsletter; the card is what they show if the member’s rate is checked at the door.
The members’ bar after the set
If one room or one bar is for members, the bartender or steward looks at the phone. The venue’s name and a valid date are enough to tell a member from someone who wandered upstairs.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Concert hall” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a 300-capacity venue with 210 members
Imagine a live club with 170 members and 40 on a higher plan. People join at the bar or through the membership link on the venue’s site; the fee is paid over the counter or by transfer, and the volunteer in charge activates the card. With 210 cards, the venue uses the Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT per month. Concert tickets continue to go through the venue’s existing ticket seller. Twice a year, a members’ night with 120 free tickets is created in MPass and scanned at the door.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Concert” or “DJ night”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Can MPass run members-only presales?
MPass does not take payments, so the presale itself stays with your ticket seller. What MPass gives you is a reliable way to know and check who is a member, at the moment you send a presale code and at the door on the night.
Can we check concert tickets with the MPass scanner?
Only tickets created in MPass. They suit free or members’ nights where you share a link and scan a QR code at the door. Tickets bought through another ticketing service are checked with that service’s own tools.
Do we need scanners or wristbands at the door?
No hardware is needed. The person on the door scans the QR code with an ordinary smartphone and sees whether the card is valid. If you use wristbands or stamps for re-entry during the night, keep them: MPass checks membership, it does not follow who goes in and out.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
