Cultural centre membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
A cultural centre does a bit of everything, pottery on Tuesday, a concert on Friday, an exhibition all month, and the member’s rate applies to each of them at a different counter. With a cultural centre membership card on the phone, every activity leader can see in a second that the person in front of them is a member this year.
No sign-up or credit card · your test card in 1 minute
One card for every room in the building
The card shows the centre’s name, logo and colours, the member’s name and number, the type of membership and its expiry. You define the types, for example Member at €30 and Family at €50 a year. A renewal or a move from single to family membership is applied to the card in the phone without anything being reprinted. Whether at the reception desk, in the activity room or at the door of the main hall, a staff member or volunteer scans the QR code with a phone to check validity.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Member | €30 |
| Family | €50 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Workshops · Concerts · Exhibitions · Activities.
Three real situations
First session of a creative workshop
The workshop leader does not know the new faces. Those who claim the member’s rate show their card, and a scan confirms it. Registration for the workshop and its fee are still handled at your reception.
Concert night in the main hall
For a concert with free seating, share a ticket link. Members and visitors each receive a QR code, volunteers scan at the door, and whoever is on the cash desk deals only with people who have not registered.
Renewals in September
Memberships often run with the school year. On the Essential plan, members receive a reminder a month before their card ends, which arrives just as the new programme brochure does.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Cultural centre” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a cultural centre with 240 members
Take a centre with 150 individual members and 45 families, each family having two cards: 240 cards. People join at reception or through the membership link given in the programme, pay at the desk as usual, and receive their card by email once it is activated. The Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT per month covers up to 300 cards. For a concert of 100 seats, the coordinator creates tickets and two volunteers take turns scanning with the centre’s phone.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Concert” or “Creative workshop”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Can members register for a workshop with the card?
The card proves membership; it does not enrol anyone in a course or reserve a room. For one-off events you can issue tickets through a link. Term-long workshops with a fee and a group list are better left in your existing registration process.
Does MPass apply social or discount rates for us?
No. MPass does not compute prices. Your reception decides which rate applies to whom, as it does now. If it helps your staff, you can create separate membership types so that the card states the category the person belongs to.
We are a small team. How long does the set-up take?
Choosing a model and adding your logo and colours takes about ten minutes. Adding members depends on your list: one by one, through the link members fill in themselves, or by importing an Excel or CSV file on the Pro plan.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
