The theatre subscriber card, in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
A theatre’s subscribers are its most loyal audience, but at the box office they are often identified by a name on a printout or a card that went through the wash. A theatre subscriber card in the Wallet shows the subscription and the season it covers, and the usher or the bar confirms it with a scan.

The season, on the subscriber’s phone
Your theatre’s name, logo and colours head the card. Underneath come the subscriber’s name, a number, the subscription and the end of the season. Subscriptions are defined by you, for example Subscriber at €120 and Under 26 at €60. When a subscriber renews for next season, the date on the card moves forward by itself; a young subscriber who turns 26 can be switched to the standard subscription in one change. Front-of-house staff check a card by scanning its QR code with a phone.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Subscriber | €120 |
| Under 26 | €60 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Subscriber card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: 12 shows · Priority booking · Bar.
Three real situations
Collecting seats at the box office
The subscriber shows the card, the box office scans it and hands over the seats set aside in your own booking system. The card identifies the person and the subscription; seat allocation remains with your box office.
Interval at the bar
If subscribers get a reduction at the bar, the bartender glances at the phone: theatre name, subscriber name, season still running. No need for a stamp or a separate voucher.
An evening for subscribers only
For a season launch or a meeting with the company, send subscribers a ticket link. Each one arrives with a QR code, scanned in the foyer, and you know how many glasses to prepare.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Theatre” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Subscriber card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a town theatre with 280 subscribers
Imagine a theatre with 230 full subscribers and 50 under-26 subscribers for a season of twelve shows. Subscriptions are taken and paid at the box office as before. The administrator then adds each subscriber, or sends the sign-up link in the confirmation email so people enter their own details, and activates the cards. With 280 cards, the Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT per month is enough. A month before the season ends, each subscriber gets the renewal reminder.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Premiere” or “Children’s show”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing. By event type: all events.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Does the subscriber card count the shows already seen?
No. MPass does not count sessions or deduct shows from a subscription. The card proves that the person is a subscriber for the season. If your subscription covers a fixed number of shows, keep following that in your booking system.
Can it manage reduced rates and social tariffs?
MPass does not calculate prices or apply tariffs. You can create a subscription type for each category you recognise, such as an under-26 type, and the card will state it. Deciding who qualifies and what they pay is done at your box office.
Can we use it for single tickets for every show?
MPass can issue tickets with a QR code for an event, but it does not assign seats or take payment. For a numbered auditorium with paid single tickets, your box office software remains the right tool. MPass fits the subscriber card and unreserved events.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
