Cooking and wine club membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
A tasting is planned around the table: fourteen glasses, fourteen chairs, bottles bought for exactly that number, and a no-show costs the club real money. A cooking and wine club membership card in the Wallet shows who is a member this year, and each seat at a tasting or a workshop is a ticket you scan at the cellar door.

The club card: member or duo
The card shows the club’s name and colours, the member’s name and number, the plan and the year. Member and Duo are example plans, the second for two people who join together. Members receive the card by email and add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. When a solo member brings a partner into the club mid-year, you switch the plan and the card follows. On the evening, the host scans the QR code of the card or the ticket with a phone. The yearly fee and the cost of each evening are paid to the club, not through MPass.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Member | €60 |
| Duo | €110 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Cooking classes · Tastings · Cellar.
Three real situations
A tasting in the club cellar
Six wines, fourteen places. The evening is published with fourteen tickets and the link sent to members. The host buys bottles for the tickets taken, and scans them as people come down the stairs.
A cooking workshop
Four worktops, three people at each, a shopping list that depends on the count. Tickets are reserved a week ahead, the share of the ingredients is paid to the treasurer, and the chef shops on the Friday for twelve.
Renewing in September
The season starts with the programme of the year’s evenings. On Essential, members whose card is about to end have had a reminder; those who renew get the first ticket link, a fair reward for paying on time.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Cooking & wine” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a club of 36 members and nine evenings a year
Take a club with 16 single members and 10 duos, 36 people. Example fees: €60 for a member, €110 for a duo, plus a share of the bottles or ingredients at each evening. The secretary adds everyone in half an hour and sends the cards. Thirty-six cards alone would fit in the free plan. Because the club also issues fourteen tickets for each monthly evening and wants renewal reminders, it chooses Essential at €19 excl. VAT a month.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Wine tasting” or “Cooking workshop”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Each evening has its own cost for bottles or ingredients. How is that handled?
The ticket can show a price for information, and the member pays the club as you prefer: transfer beforehand or cash on the evening. MPass does not take the money. You confirm who has paid on your side, and the ticket remains the proof of the seat.
With a Duo plan, do we issue one card or two?
Two is more practical. Add both people on the Duo plan and each has a card and can reserve a seat in their own name. If a couple always comes together and prefers a single card, one card in both names also works.
What happens when someone cancels the day before?
MPass has no waiting list and does not reassign seats by itself. You decide what to do with the seat and can send the link to the next interested member. For evenings where bottles are bought in advance, set your own rule on late cancellations and state it in the invitation.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
