Photography club membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

A photo club shares a studio, a calibrated screen and a printer among forty people, and once a year hangs its work in a gallery where it has to count the guests. A photography club membership card in the Wallet shows who may use the equipment this year, and the same tool sends the invitations to the opening.

What the photo club’s card shows

On the card: the club’s logo, the member’s name and number, the plan and the validity date. Member and Student are example plans. A student who finishes their studies is moved to the Member plan and the card updates on their phone. Cards are sent by email or through a link in the club’s group. When someone collects the studio key or sits down at the digital lab, the member in charge can scan the QR code with a phone. MPass does not manage the studio calendar or the loan of lenses and flashes.

Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Digital lab · Exhibitions · Photo walks.

Three real situations

Collecting the studio key

The studio is reserved on the club’s own calendar. When a member comes for the key, the keyholder checks the card: valid for this year, so covered by the club’s rules for backdrops, flashes and the model’s time.

A night outing on the Grand-Place

Tripods take room and the leader can coach ten people properly. The outing is opened with ten tickets by link; those who hold one get the meeting point, and are scanned on arrival under the town hall.

Opening night of the exhibition

Members invite family, and the gallery wants a figure for the drinks. Invitations are free tickets issued through a link and scanned at the door, so the number is known before the first cork is pulled.

How it works: 3 steps

Open the “Photography” template

It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.

Add your members

One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.

Scan with your phone

The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.

Example: a photo club of 42 members

Imagine a club with 34 members and 8 students. Example fees: €40 and €20 a year, paid by transfer in September. The secretary adds the 42 names in one sitting and sends the cards by email. Forty-two active cards fit in the free plan, which has no time limit. In May, the 120 invitations for the opening of the annual exhibition go beyond the free plan’s 50 active cards or tickets, so the club takes Essential at €19 excl. VAT for that month, with no commitment.

Tickets for your events too

The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Night photo outing” or “Annual exhibition”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.

What it costs

Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.

Frequently asked questions

Does MPass handle the studio calendar or equipment loans?

No. MPass does not reserve rooms and does not track borrowed equipment. Keep your shared calendar and your loan book. The card answers the question that comes first: is this person a member this year, and on which plan?

Can invitations to the exhibition opening be free?

Yes. A ticket does not need a price. You create the opening as an event, share the link with members and guests, and each person receives an invitation with a QR code. You scan it at the gallery door on the evening.

How do we check that a student is still a student?

MPass does not verify that. You look at the student card when they join and put them on the Student plan with an end date, for example the end of the academic year. When the card expires, they renew on whichever plan then applies.

Does MPass collect membership fees?

No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.

Do we need to install an app?

No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
