A choir has two circles: the singers who come every Thursday, and the supporting members who pay a small sum each year and expect a seat at the Christmas concert. A choir membership card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet shows who belongs to which circle, and the concert tickets are issued and scanned with the same tool.

The choir member card bears the choir’s name and colours, the person’s name, a number, the plan and the season. Choir member and Supporting member are example plans. It works the same for a brass band or a wind band. Singers and supporters get the card by email; you can enter them yourself after rehearsal or share a membership link. A supporting member who renews keeps the same card, extended for a year. At a concert, one person at the door scans cards and tickets with a phone; nothing is installed in the church or hall.

Three real situations
The Christmas concert in the church
There is no box office in a church, only a table in the porch. Tickets were reserved by link in the weeks before, seating is unreserved, and a volunteer scans QR codes as the audience comes in from the cold.
Invitations for supporting members
Supporting members are thanked with an invitation to each concert. You send them a ticket at no charge; at the door they are scanned like anyone else, and nobody rummages for a paper invitation posted in November.
The first rehearsal in September
Folders of new scores are handed out to singers who have rejoined. The librarian checks the card rather than the treasurer’s list, and the annual contribution is settled before the first piece is learnt.

Example: a choir of 45 singers and 60 supporters
Imagine a mixed choir of 45 singers with 60 supporting members. Example contributions: €60 for singers, €25 for supporters, paid by transfer or in an envelope at rehearsal. The secretary adds the singers herself and sends the membership link to supporters with the invitation to the spring concert. With 105 cards the choir uses Essential at €19 excl. VAT a month; supporters receive the automatic reminder a month before their card ends, which used to be a letter.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Christmas concert” or “Spring concert”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Do the singers themselves really need a card?
Less than the supporters do. Everyone at rehearsal knows everyone. The card is useful to singers as proof of the season’s contribution and for any reduction you have negotiated, for instance at a music shop. Its main value lies with supporting members and concerts.
The church has no ticket desk and poor reception. Can we still scan?
Yes. You scan with your own phone, standing in the porch, and nothing is installed in the building. Tickets and cards are stored in the audience’s Wallets and are displayed without a connection, and the QR code can be scanned offline.
Can concert tickets be reserved without choosing a seat?
Yes, that is how MPass tickets work: a ticket gives entry, not a numbered seat. You set the number of tickets to the capacity of the church or hall. The price is paid to the choir, by transfer or at the door, with no commission.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
