TicketingConcert

Concert tickets for your choir, band or music society, scanned at the door

Before a concert, tickets tend to live in three places: a list kept by the secretary, envelopes handed round at rehearsal and a cash tin on the night. With MPass you issue concert tickets through one link, every listener holds a QR code ticket on their phone, and the door team scans it as people come in.

What a concert ticket looks like in the Wallet

The ticket carries the name of the concert, the date, the time the doors open, the venue and your colours or poster image. You set the ticket types yourself, for example Standard at €15, Student at €10 and Child free, each with its own number of seats. Singers and players pass the link on in their family chats; whoever opens it enters a name and an email or mobile number, picks a type and adds the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. MPass takes no money: the ticket states that the price is paid to the organiser, on the door or by bank transfer.

Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.

Three moments of your event

Six weeks out: the link goes round

The poster is ready and the programme is set. You post the booking link in the choir’s group chat, on the website and under the event on social media. Each member forwards it to the people who come to hear them every year.

The last week: watching the hall fill

Seats left are counted per ticket type, so you see whether the 30 student tickets are gone while standard seats remain. For the conductor’s guests or the mayor, you add the person yourself with a name and an email address.

On the night: doors open at 7.30 pm

Two volunteers stand in the foyer with their own phones. A scan admits the listener, and a ticket that has already been scanned is refused. Those who still have to pay do so at the table beside the door before going in.

How it works: 3 steps

Create the event

Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Concert” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.

Share the link

By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Scan at the door

Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.

Example: a spring concert with 140 seats

Take a choir giving its spring concert in a town hall that seats 140. It opens 90 Standard tickets at €15, 30 Student tickets at €10 and 20 free Child tickets. About half the audience pays by bank transfer in advance and the treasurer ticks the names off; the rest pay in cash or by card at the door, on the choir’s own card reader. Two phones scan in the foyer. With 140 tickets in the month, Essential at €19 a month excluding VAT is enough: it covers 150 tickets a month and two scanning phones. MPass charges no commission and no fee per ticket.

Who collects the ticket price?

You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.

Frequently asked questions

Can we number the seats or reserve the front rows?

No. MPass has no numbered seats: a ticket gives entry, not a particular chair. Most choirs and bands open the doors half an hour early and let people choose. If you keep the front row for sponsors or soloists’ families, mark those chairs yourself in the hall.

Some of our audience have no smartphone. What do we do?

You can add those listeners yourself with their name and the email or mobile number of a relative, who then holds the ticket for them. One phone can hold several tickets. MPass does not print paper tickets, so for a listener who comes alone without a phone, keep a short list at the door.

We give two concerts on the same weekend. One event or two?

Create two events, one per date, each with its own ticket types and number of seats, so that every ticket shows the right evening. Essential allows three active events at once. Remember that the monthly limit counts the tickets of both evenings together.

Do guests need to install an app?

No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.

And the membership card?

Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
