The pupil card for music, dance and arts academies, in the Wallet

An academy has children who come for music theory on Wednesday, adults in the evening drawing class and an auditorium that overflows at every recital. A pupil card for your arts academy in the Wallet shows who is enrolled this year, and tickets with a QR code bring the end-of-year concert back to the number of seats you have.

From the youngest pupil to the adult class

The card shows the academy’s name and colours, the pupil’s name, a number, the category and the school year. Categories follow your own enrolment rules, for example Under 12 at €0 and Adult at €200. For young pupils, the card goes to a parent’s email address and stays in their phone. When a pupil re-enrols, the new year appears on the card by itself. In the corridor or at the door of the dance studio, a teacher or the secretary scans the QR code with a phone to check the enrolment.

Three real situations

Tickets for the end-of-year recital

Every family wants six seats and the auditorium has two hundred. Share a ticket link, say how many each family may take, and scan the QR codes at the door, so the room holds the audience it was built for.

Borrowing an instrument or a key

The secretary lends a cello or a practice room key only to enrolled pupils. A glance at the card, or a scan, shows the enrolment is valid for this year. The loan register itself stays in your office.

The teachers’ concert

For a concert open to the town, pupils and parents show the pupil card and the public shows a ticket. One person at the auditorium door scans both with the same phone.

How it works: 3 steps

Open the “Academy (music, dance, arts)” template

It is already set up for this activity: “Pupil card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.

Add your members

One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.

Scan with your phone

The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.

Example: an academy with 450 pupils

Take a municipal academy with 300 pupils under 12 and 150 teenagers and adults across music, dance and visual arts. Enrolment is done at the office in June and September and fees are paid there. The secretary exports the list to Excel and imports it on the Pro plan at €49 excl. VAT per month; each family receives the cards by email. For the two recital evenings in June, 250 tickets are created, and a teacher scans them at the auditorium door.

Tickets for your events too

The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “End-of-year recital” or “Teachers’ concert”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing. By event type: Concert · Theatre and dance show · Open day · all events.

What it costs

Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.

Frequently asked questions

How do we share out recital seats fairly between families?

The simplest way is to state your rule in the message that carries the link, for example four seats per family, and to look through the registrations before the evening if seats are tight. Each registered person receives their own ticket with a QR code.

Do very young pupils need a phone?

No. The card is sent to the email address you enter, normally a parent’s. The parent adds it to their own Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and shows it when asked. The cards of several children can sit side by side in the same phone.

Can parents get a certificate of enrolment?

On the Essential plan and above, a certificate stating the enrolment and the fee can be created from the pupil’s record. Parents sometimes need one for an employer or a benefit scheme; what that body accepts is for them to confirm.

Does MPass collect membership fees?

No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.

Do we need to install an app?

No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
