Creative community membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
A collective of illustrators, potters and designers shares a workshop, a kiln and a market stall rota, but rarely a clear list of who has paid this year. With a creative community membership card in the Wallet, each artist or maker carries proof of membership in your colours, and the workshop is no longer open on trust alone.

A card that looks like your collective
You set the logo and the colours, so the card can be as bright as your posters. Below them: the member’s name and number, the plan and the end of validity. Plans might be, for example, Member at €25 and Support at €60 a year for those who want to back the space. If someone raises their contribution or renews, the card changes in their phone and no new file has to be designed. In the workshop or at a market, you check a card by scanning its QR code with your phone.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Member | €25 |
| Support | €60 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Artists · Designers · Makers · Exhibitions.
Three real situations
Access to the shared workshop
The person holding the keys on a given evening scans the card of anyone new. It shows whether the membership is current before the screen-printing table or the kiln is used, and avoids an uncomfortable conversation afterwards.
Stallholders at the makers’ market
On market morning, makers with a stall show the ticket you issued for that date. The steward at the hall door scans it and points them to their spot, which you have allocated in your own plan.
Visitors to the opening night
For an exhibition opening with a limited guest list, share a ticket link with members and friends. Entry is by QR code, so the door is handled by one volunteer rather than three.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Creative community” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a collective of 45 artists and makers
Take a collective with 36 members and 9 supporting members who share a workshop. One of them adds the names and email addresses in an afternoon; contributions are paid by transfer to the collective’s account and each card is activated afterwards. Forty-five cards fit in the Free plan, which has no time limit. In December, the makers’ market adds 30 stallholder tickets on top, so the collective takes Essential at €19 excl. VAT per month for that period.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Creative workshop” or “Makers’ market”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Can we design the card ourselves?
You choose a model, add your logo and set your colours, which takes about ten minutes. The layout follows the Wallet format of Apple and Google, so it is not a blank canvas: you will not place illustrations freely, but the card will be recognisably yours.
Can stallholders book and pay for a pitch through MPass?
No. MPass does not allocate pitches and does not take payments. Makers pay the stall fee to the collective as usual, you keep the floor plan, and MPass provides the ticket with a QR code that proves they are registered for the day.
What is the supporting plan for?
It gives people who believe in the space, but do not use the workshop, a card of their own, for example at €60 a year. The plan is written on the card, so you can tell supporters and working members apart when it matters.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
