Afterwork club membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
When an afterwork takes off, the rooftop fills in twenty minutes and the doorman has no way of telling a paying member from a friend of a friend. An afterwork club membership card on the phone shows the plan, Member or VIP, and the date it runs to, and one scan at the entrance replaces the guest list on paper.

Member and VIP on the same door
The card shows your club’s name and look, the member’s name, a number, the plan and the expiry date. As an example, a Member plan at €30 and a VIP plan at €90 a year. When a member upgrades to VIP, you change the plan and the card on their phone follows. At the door, the host scans the QR code with a phone: a current card passes, a lapsed one is flagged. What VIP entitles people to, a separate entrance or a welcome drink, is your decision and your venue’s.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Member | €30 |
| VIP | €90 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Afterworks · Restaurants · Cultural outings.
Three real situations
Thursday at six, the queue on the stairs
Members hold out their phone, the host scans and they are in. Non-members show the ticket they got through your link for that evening. The line moves, and the venue manager sees a door that is under control.
A VIP night in a smaller room
For a night kept for VIP members, the plan on the card is the guest list. Nobody needs to print names, and a member who upgraded that afternoon already has the right card.
A restaurant or museum outing
For an outing with a fixed number of places, create a ticket for the date and share the link with members first. On the evening, the organiser scans the tickets at the meeting point.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Afterworks & outings” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: an afterwork club of 220 members
Imagine a club with 190 members and 30 VIP members that runs one afterwork a week and an outing a month. New members join through the sign-up link in the club’s social media profile, pay the yearly fee to the organiser by transfer or at the door, and get their card once it is activated. With 220 cards, the Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT per month is sufficient, and the reminder a month before expiry saves the organiser a round of messages.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Thursday afterwork” or “VIP night”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Can a member bring a guest on their card?
The card is personal: one name, one QR code. For guests, create tickets for the evening and share the link with the member, who passes it on. That way each person at the door has something of their own to scan.
Do we still need a guest list?
Not a printed one. People with a valid card or a ticket for the night are the list. If your venue has a capacity limit, keep an eye on the number of tickets you issue for that evening and stop sharing the link in time.
Can members pay their drinks or entry with the card?
No. The card is proof of membership, not a wallet for money. MPass never takes payments: entry fees and membership fees go to you directly, by whichever means you already use, and no commission is taken.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
