The player card for gaming communities and esports clubs, in the Wallet
Your players know each other by handle on a chat server, which does not help much when sixty people queue with their towers at the door of a LAN party. A gaming club player card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet ties a name and a valid membership to each player, and it scans in a second at the entrance.

What the player card puts on screen
The card takes your club’s logo and colours, so it can look as loud as your stream overlay. It shows the player’s name, a number, the plan and the expiry date. Plans could be, for example, Player at €20 and Pro at €60 a year, the second for those in the coached roster. Move a player into the Pro roster and their card switches plan on the phone; let a membership lapse and the scan shows it has expired. Checking is done with any organiser’s phone, by reading the QR code.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Player | €20 |
| Pro | €60 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Player card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: LAN party · Pro coaching · Esports tournaments.
Three real situations
Doors of the LAN party
Members show their player card, visitors a ticket for the weekend. One organiser scans both at the hall entrance while the others help carry screens. People without either are easy to spot before they plug in.
Tournament check-in
Before the bracket starts, team captains bring their players to the desk. A valid card confirms each one belongs to the club for this season, which matters when a prize or a ranking is at stake.
Coaching sessions for the Pro roster
If coaching is kept for the Pro plan, the coach can ask to see the card at the start of the block. The plan name is on it, so there is no need to dig through payment messages on the server.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Gaming & esports” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Player card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: an esports club of 70 players and two LANs a year
Picture a club with 58 players on the standard plan and 12 on a Pro plan with coaching. The board posts the sign-up link in the announcements channel and players enter their own details; parents of minors pay by transfer, and the treasurer activates cards as payments come in. Seventy cards means the Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT per month. For each LAN, the club shares a ticket link for around 60 non-member seats and scans everyone in at the multi-purpose hall.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “LAN party” or “Esports tournament”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Can a LAN ticket hold a reserved seat number?
MPass does not manage a floor plan or assign seats. The ticket proves that the person is registered for the event and is scanned at the door. If you number your tables, keep the seating in your own sheet and match it to the name on the ticket.
Can we show the gamertag instead of the real name?
The card shows the name you enter for the member, so you choose what goes in that field: a real name, a handle, or both. For minors and for prize tournaments, you will probably want the real name on record somewhere, even if the handle is what players call each other.
Do players need to install anything?
No. The card opens from an email or a link and is saved in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. There is no launcher, no account and no extra app, which also means nothing to update the night before a tournament.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
