Riding school membership card in the Wallet, for riders, pony club and owners

A yard has lesson riders, pony club children, liveries who come and go at all hours, and parents who would like to know what the yearly fee actually covers. The riding school membership card puts each rider’s plan and validity in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so the office and the instructors see the same thing.

What the rider card says

The rider card shows the name of the yard, the rider’s name and member number, the plan and the end date. Rider, Pony club and Owner are example plans: the yearly membership, not the price of lessons or livery. Parents keep a child’s card on their own phone. Cards are sent by email or link, and they update when you renew a rider or move a child from the pony club to the main school. You check a card by scanning its QR code with your phone. Lesson counts and arena bookings are not part of MPass.

Example planExample amount
Rider€250
Pony club€180
Owner€120

Example plans and amounts from the “Rider card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Riding arena · Stables · Shows · Camps.

Three real situations

September enrolment

Parents queue at the office with forms, hats to be fitted and questions. With the membership link sent in advance, details are already in, the fee is paid to the yard as usual, and the card confirms the child’s place.

Holiday camp week

Camps take a fixed number of children per pony. You issue camp places as tickets through a link, in the number you decide, and scan them on Monday morning when the children are dropped off.

Club show day

Riders from the yard and a few invited ones enter the classes; families fill the gallery. Tickets for entries and spectators are scanned at the arena door, and your members show their card for the members’ rate.

How it works: 3 steps

Open the “Horse riding” template

It is already set up for this activity: “Rider card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.

Add your members

One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.

Scan with your phone

The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.

Example: a yard with 120 riders and 18 liveries

Imagine a riding school with 70 lesson riders, 50 pony club children and 18 horse owners at livery. Example yearly memberships: €250, €180 and €120, separate from lessons and livery, which the yard invoices as before. The manager sends the membership link in August; cards are activated as payments arrive at the office. With 138 cards the yard uses Essential at €19 excl. VAT a month. The summer camps, 16 children a week, are issued as tickets from the same account.

Tickets for your events too

The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Club show” or “Holiday camp”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing. By event type: all events.

What it costs

Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.

Frequently asked questions

We sell cards of ten lessons. Can MPass count the rides?

No. MPass has no session counter and no lesson timetable. It shows that someone is a member, on which plan and until when. Keep counting lessons on your own cards or in your booking tool, and use the rider card for the yearly membership.

Does the rider card replace a federation licence or riding insurance?

No. Licences and insurance are arranged with the bodies that issue them, and MPass has no link with federations. The rider card is the yard’s own membership card. It can sit next to those documents, not instead of them.

Are places on a holiday camp booked and paid through MPass?

Booked, in the sense that parents get a ticket through your link and a place is taken. Paid, no: the camp fee goes to the yard by transfer or at the office, and you remain in charge of confirming it. MPass takes no commission on camps or shows.

Does MPass collect membership fees?

No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.

Do we need to install an app?

No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
