Tasting club membership card for wine, whisky and beer, in the Wallet
A tasting is planned bottle by bottle: twelve glasses poured means twelve people, not fifteen, and the member who forgot to renew still expects a seat. A tasting club membership card in the Wallet shows who belongs to the club this year, and a ticket per evening tells you exactly how many glasses to set out.

From the cellar door to the last glass
The card carries the club’s name and colours, the member’s name, a number, the plan and its end date. As an illustration, a Member plan at €180 and a Grand cru plan at €450 a year, the second for those who attend the rarer bottles. If a member moves up to Grand cru, you change the plan and their card is corrected in the Wallet. When members arrive at the cellar, the host scans the QR code with a phone and sees whether the membership is current before pouring anything.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Member | €180 |
| Grand cru | €450 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Wine · Whisky · Belgian beers · Cellar.
Three real situations
A Trappist beer evening in the cellar
Fourteen seats around the table. Members who registered through the ticket link show their QR code on arrival, and the host knows how many bottles to open before anyone sits down.
Whisky night with rare bottles
When an evening is kept for the higher plan, the plan name on the card decides who is invited. No spreadsheet on the bar, and no doubt about who contributed to the cask.
At the wine merchant’s counter
If a merchant gives your members a reduction, the card on the phone is what they show. It names the club and the member and carries a date, which is enough for the shop.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Tasting club” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a wine and whisky club of 48 members
Picture a club with 40 members on the standard plan and 8 on a Grand cru plan, meeting ten times a year. The cellar master adds the members himself and activates each card when the annual fee has reached the club’s account. Forty-eight cards fit within the Free plan. Since each tasting adds a dozen tickets, the club goes over 50 active cards and tickets on tasting weeks and chooses Essential at €19 excl. VAT per month, which also sends renewal reminders.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Trappist beer tasting” or “Whisky night”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
How do we keep a tasting to a fixed number of places?
Share the ticket link with your members and follow the number of tickets issued; when the table is full, stop sharing it and tell latecomers. Each ticket carries a QR code that you scan at the cellar door, so only registered members sit down.
Can the card prove that a member is an adult?
No. The card shows the name, plan, number and validity. Checking that members are old enough to drink is your responsibility when they join, with whatever proof you ask for. MPass does not require an identity photo.
Can members pay for bottles or tastings with the card?
No. MPass does not handle money. A contribution for a special bottle is paid to the club as you do today, in cash on the night or by transfer. The card and the ticket only show membership and registration.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
