Hockey club membership card on the phone, for the pitch and the clubhouse
A hockey club is as much a clubhouse as a pitch: whole families join, parents spend Sundays at the bar, and the recreational players pay a different fee from the first team. A hockey club membership card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet shows which plan each person is on and whether this season’s fee has been settled.

A club card for players, parents and recreational members
Each card shows the member’s name, number, plan and validity date under your club’s logo. Example plans: Senior, Youth, Recreational hockey; you can add one for parents and supporters who only use the clubhouse. Members receive the card by email and add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet; a parent can hold the cards of all the children. When the fee for a new season is paid, you extend the card and it updates on the phone. At the clubhouse or beside the pitch, scanning the QR code with a phone shows whether the card is valid.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Senior | €350 |
| Youth | €250 |
| Recreational hockey | €200 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Artificial turf · Indoor hall.
Three real situations
Sunday at the clubhouse
Six matches, six sets of parents, one bar. If members have a member price, the bar team asks for the card instead of guessing who belongs to the club and who came with the visiting side.
The fee reminder nobody likes sending
With fees of several hundred euros, late payers weigh on the budget. A card that stays inactive until the transfer arrives, and an automatic reminder a month before the end, take some of the chasing off the treasurer.
The club party
For the end-of-season party you issue tickets through a link and scan them at the clubhouse door. Members pay the club in the usual way; the ticket is only the proof that they are on the list.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Hockey” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: 420 members, most of them families
Take a club with 260 youth players, 110 seniors and 50 recreational members. Example fees: €350 for seniors, €250 for youth, €200 for recreational hockey, paid by bank transfer in August. The membership secretary exports the list from the club’s spreadsheet and imports it in one go, which requires Pro at €49 excl. VAT a month; above 300 cards the club would be on Pro anyway. Each family receives its cards by email, and cards are activated as fees arrive.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Honour division match” or “Club party”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
A family has four members at the club. How many cards is that?
Four, one per member, because each has their own plan and number. They do not need four phones: a parent can add the children’s cards to their own Wallet next to theirs and show the right one at the clubhouse or the pitch.
Does MPass handle team selections or match-day call-ups?
No. Selections, call-ups, training plans and team messaging are outside what MPass does. It covers the membership card, renewals, membership certificates and tickets for club events. Keep your team tool for the sporting side and use MPass for the card.
Can recreational players have a card for their own season only?
Yes. Every card has its own plan and its own end date. If your recreational section runs from September to May, or indoor hockey only in winter, you set the dates accordingly and the card shows them.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
