Tennis club membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, summer and winter
When the clay courts reopen in April, half the people on them renewed, a quarter meant to, and a few are guests nobody announced. A tennis club membership card in the Wallet shows the plan, the member number and the end date on the player’s phone, so a glance or a scan at the court answers the question.

What a tennis club card shows on court
The card displays the member’s name, their member number, their plan and how long it runs. Plans are yours: for example Adult, Youth and a Summer only plan that stops when the clay season ends. The member number is the one your members quote in whatever booking sheet or system you already use; MPass itself does not book courts. Extend a summer member through the winter and the card updates on their phone. To check, scan the QR code with your own phone: it tells you if the card is valid.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Adult | €220 |
| Youth | €110 |
| Summer only | €140 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Indoor courts · Coaching · Tournaments.
Three real situations
A busy Saturday on the clay
Courts are full and someone is waiting. The committee member on duty asks to see cards and spots the summer plan that ended last month or the guest who has no card at all, without an argument about who paid what.
The switch to indoor courts
In October only members with a full-year plan move indoors. Their cards run on; summer-only cards expire on the date you set, and those members have already had a reminder a month earlier if you are on Essential.
Club tournament and barbecue
Entries for the club tournament and places at the end-of-season barbecue can be issued as tickets through a link. You scan them at the clubhouse and know how many plates to count.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Tennis” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: 160 members on six courts
Imagine a club with four clay courts and two indoor courts, 110 adults, 35 juniors and 15 summer-only members. Example fees: €220, €110 and €140. Renewals open in March: the secretary emails last year’s members, they pay by transfer, and she extends each card as the payment lands. New members use the membership link pinned on the club noticeboard. At 160 cards, Essential at €19 excl. VAT a month is the plan that fits.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Club tournament” or “End-of-season barbecue”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Does MPass replace our court booking system?
No. MPass does not book courts and does not show which court is free. What it gives each member is a card with a member number and a validity date. If your booking system or paper sheet works with member numbers, the number on the card is the one to use.
How do we handle members who bring a guest?
Guest rules stay yours. The card helps on one point: it makes clear who the member is, so the guest fee is noted against the right person. If you hold open days, you can issue tickets for visitors through a link and scan them on arrival.
Can coaching pupils who are not members have a card?
Yes, if you want them to. Create a plan for them, for example Lessons only, with its own end date. Their card then shows that they may be on court during lessons but are not full members, which avoids confusion at weekends.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
