The language school student card, in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
A language school enrols new students every few weeks, in evening classes, intensive courses and conversation tables, and a paper card is out of date before the first test. A language school student card in the Wallet shows the course and its end date, and the teacher or the front desk scans it on the first evening.

The course and its dates, on the student’s phone
The card is in your school’s colours and shows the student’s name, a number, the course and the date the enrolment ends. Courses are yours to list, for example Evening classes at €180 and Intensive at €420 per term. If a student carries on for another term or moves from evenings to intensive, the card is updated in their Wallet. MPass works in English, French, Dutch and German. At the front desk or the classroom door, staff scan the QR code with a phone to check the enrolment is current.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Evening classes | €180 |
| Intensive | €420 |
Example plans and amounts from the “Student card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: NL · FR · DE · EN · Recognised certificates.
Three real situations
First lesson of the term
Twenty adults look for room 3. The teacher scans the cards of the group and sees at once who is enrolled for this term and who is still on last term’s card and needs to go to the front desk.
The conversation table
Conversation tables work with eight to ten people. Share a ticket link for each date; students register themselves and show a QR code on arrival, and the host knows how many chairs to set.
Proof of enrolment for an employer
Students whose employer pays for the course often need a document. On the Essential plan and above, a certificate stating the enrolment and the fee can be created from the student’s record.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Language school” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Student card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: a language school with 180 students a term
Picture a school teaching Dutch, French, German and English to 140 evening students and 40 intensive students per term. Enrolment and payment happen at the front desk or by transfer, as they do today. The secretary sends the sign-up link in the confirmation email, students enter their own details, and she activates the cards before the first lesson. With 180 cards, the Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT per month suits the school, and the reminder a month before the end of term prompts re-enrolment.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Conversation table” or “Placement test”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Does the card show the level, such as A2 or B1?
The card shows the course you assign. If you name your courses by language and level, for example Dutch A2 evening, that name appears on the card. MPass does not run placement tests or keep marks; the level is whatever you enter.
Can it record attendance for a certificate?
No. MPass does not keep an attendance register and does not count lessons attended. If a certificate of attendance depends on a minimum presence, the teacher’s register remains the reference. MPass can produce a certificate of enrolment and fee.
Can students with little French or Dutch use it?
Adding the card takes one tap on a button in an email, with no account to create and no long form in a language they are still learning. MPass itself is available in English, French, Dutch and German.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
