Youth centre membership card: the youth card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
At a youth centre the card costs five euros or nothing, paper versions do not survive a week in a hoodie pocket, and the phone is the one thing a fifteen-year-old never forgets. The youth centre membership card, a youth card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, is sent by a simple link and shown at workshops and concerts.

The youth card, where young people will keep it
The youth card shows the centre’s name and colours, the young person’s first name and surname, a number, the plan and the end date. Youth and Leader are example plans; the first can be free or cost a few euros, the second is for youth workers and volunteers. The card is sent by email or by a link you can pass on in a message, and it is added to the Wallet without any app. Renewed in September, it updates by itself. A youth worker scans the QR code with a phone at the door of an activity.
| Example plan | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Youth | €5 |
| Leader | Free |
Example plans and amounts from the “Youth card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Workshops · Activities · Support.
Three real situations
A graffiti workshop
Twelve places, twelve masks, twelve sets of cans. The workshop is published with twelve tickets and the link goes into the centre’s group chat. On the day the youth worker scans arrivals and knows who dropped out.
Open mic night
The concert room has a maximum capacity and the open mic draws friends of friends. Free tickets through a link give you a number in advance; at the door, cards and tickets are scanned with the same phone.
A Wednesday afternoon drop-in
Someone new walks in with a friend. They scan the QR code on the counter and fill in their name, and the youth worker activates the card once the few euros, if any, are settled.
How it works: 3 steps
Open the “Youth centre” template
It is already set up for this activity: “Youth card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.
Add your members
One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.
Scan with your phone
The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.
Example: 120 young people and 8 leaders
Imagine a youth centre with 120 members aged 12 to 26 and 8 leaders. Example fee: €5 a year for young people, nothing for leaders, paid in cash at the counter. Most sign up themselves through the link; the youth workers activate the cards. With 128 cards the centre uses Essential at €19 excl. VAT a month. Workshops, with a dozen places, and two open mics a term are issued as tickets. Parental consent forms, where the centre requires them, remain on paper.
Tickets for your events too
The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Graffiti workshop” or “Open mic”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.
What it costs
Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Our card is free for young people. Can a plan cost nothing?
Yes. The amount attached to a plan is only there for information and can be zero. A free card works exactly like a paid one: it has a validity date, it is scanned the same way, and it is renewed each year.
Some members never read their email. How do they get the card?
Each card has its own link. You can send that link in a message, and the young person opens it on their phone and adds the card to the Wallet. That suits younger teenagers, who look at their messages far more often than at an inbox.
What data do we hold on minors, and where?
Only what you choose to ask for the card, such as a name and a contact. It is hosted in the European Union and handled in line with the GDPR, and the centre remains responsible for it. Your own rules on parental consent continue to apply.
Does MPass collect membership fees?
No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.
Do we need to install an app?
No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
