Charity membership card in the Wallet, for members, donors and volunteers

A solidarity association counts every euro, so printing cards for members, donors and volunteers is the first expense to go, and the list of who is what ends up in three different files. A charity membership card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet costs nothing to print and shows each person’s role and year on their phone.

Member, donor, volunteer: what the card shows

Each person receives a card with the association’s logo, their name and number, their plan and the validity date. Member, Donor and Volunteer are example plans; a volunteer’s plan can carry no fee. People sign up through a membership link or are added by the secretary, and the card reaches them by email. When a volunteer becomes a member, or a membership is renewed, the card updates. At the general meeting or on a collection day, a coordinator scans the QR code with a phone to see that the card is valid.

Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: NGO · Food aid · Volunteering.

Three real situations

A collection day at the supermarket

Volunteers stand at the entrance with crates and leaflets. When the shop manager or a customer asks who they are with, the card on the phone shows the association’s name, their own name and a valid date.

The solidarity dinner

The community hall seats 120 and the caterer wants the number a week ahead. Tickets are reserved through a link, paid to the association by transfer, and scanned at the door on the evening.

The annual general meeting

Only members in good standing vote. At the entrance, a scan separates members from donors and guests, and the voting papers go to the right people without a debate over last year’s list.

How it works: 3 steps

Open the “Solidarity & humanitarian” template

It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.

Add your members

One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.

Scan with your phone

The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.

Example: 60 members, 90 donors, 35 volunteers

Take a food aid association with 60 members, 90 regular donors and 35 volunteers. Example amounts: €20 for members, €50 for donors, nothing for volunteers. The secretary adds the volunteers herself and sends the membership link to the others with the autumn newsletter. Contributions arrive on the association’s bank account as before. With 185 cards, Essential at €19 excl. VAT a month is the plan needed; it also issues the membership certificates that some members ask for.

Tickets for your events too

The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Solidarity dinner” or “Information evening”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.

What it costs

Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.

Frequently asked questions

Is the donor’s card or certificate a tax receipt?

No. MPass can produce a membership certificate from a member’s record, which states the association, the person, the amount and the period. It is not a tax receipt for donations. For those, keep using the documents your accountant or tax office requires.

Can donations or fees be paid through MPass?

No. MPass handles no money at all and takes no commission. Members and donors pay your association by transfer, standing order or cash, as they do today. You then activate or extend their card, which acknowledges what they gave.

Volunteers pay nothing. Why give them a card?

Because it identifies them. On a collection day, at a partner’s warehouse or at your own events, the card shows that the person acts for the association this year. When a volunteer stops, the card is simply not renewed.

Does MPass collect membership fees?

No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.

Do we need to install an app?

No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
