Conference tickets and attendee passes in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

The first half hour of a conference is lost at the welcome desk, where three people search an alphabetical list while the keynote speaker waits. With conference tickets in the Wallet, each participant arrives with a QR code on their phone, and the desk scans it and hands over the lanyard in a few seconds.

What the participant’s pass contains

You create the conference as an event and share the registration link. Each person who registers receives a ticket with a QR code in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, bearing the name of the event and their own. If you run a series through the year, a pass with plans, for example Participant at €0 and Premium at €150, identifies your regulars and shows an end date. Changes you make reach the phone by themselves. At the welcome desk, staff scan with a phone. Fees, if any, are paid to you directly.

Example plans and amounts from the “Membership card” template: you change the names, the amounts and the validity period. MPass does not collect these amounts. On the back of the card you write your own text, for example: Conferences · Seminars · Keynotes · Networking.

Three real situations

The welcome desk at half past eight

Participants show their phone, the desk scans the QR code and gives out the printed name badge and the programme. Walk-ins who did not register are directed to a separate table instead of slowing the line.

A seminar with thirty seats

A seminar room does not stretch. Share a separate link for the afternoon seminar, watch the registrations, and scan at the door of the room so that the thirty seats go to the thirty who signed up.

Speakers and partners

Send speakers and sponsors the link personally. They arrive with a ticket like everyone else, the desk recognises their name and hands them the right badge without a second list.

How it works: 3 steps

Open the “Conferences & seminars” template

It is already set up for this activity: “Membership card” as the title, example plans, colours. Add your logo and your own text in ten minutes.

Add your members

One by one, through a sign-up link each person fills in, or by Excel import on the Pro plan. Everyone receives their card by email or by link.

Scan with your phone

The card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap. To check it, you scan its QR code with your own phone, with no hardware to buy.

Create my conference pass

Example: an annual conference of 140 participants

Imagine a professional association holding a one-day conference for 140 people, with a keynote in the morning and talks in the afternoon. The organiser creates the event in MPass and puts the registration link in the invitation email. Participation fees are invoiced and collected by the association. On the day, a volunteer scans tickets at the auditorium entrance. With 140 tickets in the month, the Essential plan at €19 excl. VAT is enough, and the association goes back to the Free plan afterwards.

Tickets for your events too

The same app creates tickets for your events, for example “Annual conference” or “Seminar”. You share a link, each guest gets a ticket with a QR code in their Wallet, and you scan at the door. MPass does not collect the ticket price: you take it as you always have. See event ticketing.

What it costs

Free up to 50 active cards or tickets, with no time limit. The Essential plan (€19 a month excluding VAT, up to 300 cards) adds renewal reminders and certificates. The Pro plan (€49 a month excluding VAT) adds Excel import. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card.

Frequently asked questions

Can MPass produce certificates of attendance or track sessions?

No. MPass does not record attendance and does not log which sessions a participant followed. The scan at the entrance checks that the ticket is valid. If you award training credits or certificates of attendance, keep your sign-in sheets for that.

Does it print name badges?

No. The ticket lives in the participant’s phone and serves for check-in. Printed name badges and lanyards, which people wear to recognise each other over coffee, are prepared by you as usual and handed over once the ticket is scanned.

Can participants pay their registration fee when they sign up?

Not through MPass, which never handles money and takes no commission. Collect fees as you already do, by invoice, transfer or your usual payment tool, and give the registration link to those who have paid, or let people register first and invoice them afterwards.

Does MPass collect membership fees?

No. You enter the amounts for information only. Your members pay the club as usual (bank transfer, in person) and you activate their card in MPass. No payment goes through the app.

Do we need to install an app?

No. You manage everything from your browser, and your members install nothing: the card goes straight into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone.
