TicketingTasting and after-work

Tasting tickets for a wine or beer evening, with a set number of seats

For a tasting, the bottles are bought for an exact number of glasses: thirty seats means thirty, and a guest who brings a colleague unannounced upsets the pour. MPass issues tasting tickets through a link with a fixed number of seats, so your wine club or network knows who is coming before the corks are pulled.

A seat at the tasting table, shown on the ticket

The ticket carries the theme of the evening, the date, the time, the cellar or bar and your club’s colours. Two types are common, for example Seat at €35 and Member at €28, each with a number of seats matched to the bottles. You send the link to your members or post it in the network’s group; the guest gives a name and an email or mobile number and adds the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The contribution is paid to the club, usually by transfer before the evening. MPass takes no payment and no commission, and does not check who has paid.

Three moments of your event

Choosing the theme and the number

Six wines, thirty tasters, one bottle per ten glasses: the arithmetic comes first. You set the seats to match, publish the link, and the places left show whether to confirm the order with the wine merchant or scale it down.

A week before: payments in

The treasurer compares the bank statement with the names that hold a ticket. Guests who have not paid get a friendly reminder from you; MPass sends none. For an after-work where everyone buys their own drinks at the bar, this step disappears.

Arrival and first pour

One person scans at the top of the cellar stairs while the host lines up the glasses. A ticket already scanned is refused, so the head count at the table equals the seats you planned. Tasting sheets and spittoons are yours to bring.

How it works: 3 steps

Create the event

Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Tasting and after-work” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.

Share the link

By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Scan at the door

Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.

Example: an autumn tasting with 30 seats

Imagine a wine club holding its autumn tasting in a merchant’s cellar with one long table of 30. It opens 20 Seat tickets shown at €35 and 10 Member tickets at €28. Guests transfer the amount to the club account within five days and the treasurer keeps the list; two members pay in cash on the night. One phone scans at the door. Thirty tickets are more than the ten of the Free plan, so the club takes Essential at €19 a month excluding VAT, which leaves room for a monthly after-work as well: 150 tickets a month and three active events.

Who collects the ticket price?

You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.

What it costs

Frequently asked questions

Can we reserve the member price for members only?

The link cannot check membership on a mixed evening: anyone can pick the Member type. Either verify at the door with the membership card, which MPass also issues, or hold a members-only tasting, where the member number is asked at booking. Limiting the Member type to a few seats also helps.

We hold an after-work every month. A new event each time?

Yes. Each evening is an event with its own date and seats, and tickets are counted per month. On Essential three events can be active at once, so you can open next month’s after-work while this month’s tasting is still filling. Free after-works can be given a price of €0.

Can guests order bottles through the ticket?

No. MPass issues the seat at the tasting and nothing else: no order form, no shop, no payment. If the merchant offers the evening’s wines for sale, orders are taken on paper at the table or through the merchant’s own channels. The ticket simply gets the guest to the table.

Do guests need to install an app?

No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.

And the membership card?

Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
