Tickets for your village fête or street party: the meal, the volunteers, the count
A village fête is open to everyone, yet the hog roast has 110 portions and thirty volunteers need to know where to be. MPass does not fence the green: it gives you tickets for the parts of a community fête that have a limit, such as the meal, and a QR code scan at the place where they are served.

What to ticket at a fête, and what to leave open
A fête ticket shows the event’s name, the date, the opening time, the place and the committee’s colours or poster. The useful types are those with a number attached, for example Meal at €15 with 120 places and Volunteer free with 30. Neighbours receive the link through the street’s chat group or the committee’s page, give a name and an email or mobile number, and keep the ticket in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The meal is paid to the committee as usual. MPass takes no money, checks no payment and adds no fee per ticket.
| Example category | Displayed price | Places |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Free | 400 |
| Meal | €15 | 120 |
| Volunteer | Free | 30 |
Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.
Three moments of your event
A month before: flyers and the link
The flyer through every letterbox announces the day; the link takes the meal bookings. For neighbours who would rather phone or knock, a committee member adds them by hand with a name and a mobile number, so the count stays in one place.
Briefing the volunteers
Stallholders, the tea tent crew and the helpers on the bouncy castle each take a Volunteer ticket. On the day it appears on their lock screen at the time and place of the fête, and it tells the food tent that their meal is on the committee.
Serving time at the food tent
One phone scans at the head of the queue. Each Meal ticket is accepted once, so nobody is served twice by mistake and the cooks know when the booked plates are out. The stalls, the tombola and the bar run as they always have.
How it works: 3 steps
Create the event
Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Community festival” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.
Share the link
By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Scan at the door
Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.
Example: a summer fête with 110 meals
Imagine a residents’ committee holding its summer fête on the village green. Entry is free and unticketed, as several hundred people drift in and out during the afternoon. The committee tickets the evening meal, 110 places shown at €15, and 30 free Volunteer tickets: 140 in all. Meals are paid in cash to the treasurer or by transfer beforehand, and she keeps her own list. One phone scans at the food tent. With 140 tickets the committee is covered by Essential at €19 a month excluding VAT, which allows 150 tickets a month and a second scanning phone.
Who collects the ticket price?
You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.
What it costs
Free: 10 tickets a month, 1 active event, scanning on 1 phone. Essential (€19 a month excluding VAT): 150 tickets a month, 3 active events, 2 phones. Pro (€49 a month excluding VAT): 300 tickets a month, unlimited events, 5 phones, guest lists and tickets with no MPass mention. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card. More than 300 tickets a month? Write to us before you start.
Frequently asked questions
Entry is free. Why would we issue tickets at all?
For the open part of the day you probably should not: MPass plans stop at 300 tickets a month, and a ticket adds nothing to a free walk round the stalls. Tickets earn their place where there is a limit: the meal, a children’s activity with twelve places, or the volunteer list.
Can stallholders book their pitch through MPass?
You can create a type named Stallholder with a number of places, and each stallholder then holds a ticket for the day. MPass does not allocate pitches, draw a site map or take pitch fees. Who stands where, and what a table costs, stays on the committee’s own plan.
Can the same account run our Christmas market in December?
Yes. Each event has its own date, ticket types and places, and tickets are counted per month, so a fête in June and a Christmas market in December do not add up. As there is no commitment, a committee can keep a paid plan only for the months in which it issues more than ten tickets.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.
And the membership card?
Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
