Tickets for your meetup or tech event: limited places, quick check-in
The room holds 80, 130 people clicked “going”, and you still have no idea how much pizza to order. With MPass, tickets for a meetup are capped at the places you really have, each attendee keeps a QR code in their Wallet, and check-in at the coworking door is a scan from an organiser’s phone.

A meetup ticket: free, capped and in the Wallet
The ticket shows the meetup’s name and number, the date, when doors open, the venue and your community’s colours or logo. Types are usually free of charge, for example Attendee with 80 places, Speaker with 6 and Sponsor with 10, so speakers and sponsors keep their place. You post the link on the community’s channels; attendees give a name and an email or mobile number and add the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. For the rare paid event, the price shown is paid to the organiser: MPass processes no payment and takes no commission.
| Example category | Displayed price | Places |
|---|---|---|
| Attendee | Free | 80 |
| Speaker | Free | 6 |
| Sponsor | Free | 10 |
Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.
Three moments of your event
Announcement day
The talks are confirmed and the link goes out on the mailing list, the chat server and social media. When the 80 Attendee places are gone, the type closes. MPass keeps no queue of latecomers, so say in your announcement how you will handle spare places.
The day of the meetup
The ticket surfaces on the lock screen at the time and place of the event, a nudge that an ordinary sign-up form does not give. It will not end no-shows, and MPass promises nothing of the kind, but a ticket in the Wallet is harder to overlook than a click made two weeks ago.
Check-in at 6.30 pm
You want people in the room before the first talk, not in a queue at the lift. Two organisers scan as attendees arrive. Speakers and sponsors show a ticket of their own type, and a code that was already scanned is refused.
How it works: 3 steps
Create the event
Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Meetup and tech event” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.
Share the link
By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Scan at the door
Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.
Example: a monthly meetup with 96 places
Say a developer community meets every month in a coworking space that allows 96 people. The organisers open 80 free Attendee tickets, 6 Speaker tickets and 10 Sponsor tickets. No money changes hands, so there is nothing to collect or reconcile; the sponsor pays for the pizza directly. Two phones scan at the door from 6.30 pm. With 96 tickets a month, the community fits Essential at €19 a month excluding VAT: 150 tickets a month, three active events and two scanning phones. A one-off evening for ten people runs on the Free plan.
Who collects the ticket price?
You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.
What it costs

Frequently asked questions
People sign up and do not come. Can MPass overbook or backfill?
Not automatically. There is no waiting list and no overbooking setting. You choose the number of places yourself, so if a third of sign-ups usually stay home, you can open 100 places for a room of 80 at your own risk. Latecomers can be added by hand on the evening if seats are free.
Can we collect job titles, companies or dietary needs at sign-up?
No. The booking form asks for a name and an email address or mobile number, and nothing else. There are no custom questions and no detailed statistics. If you need to know who works where, ask on the evening or in your own survey. The data that is collected is hosted in the EU.
Can we print name badges from the sign-ups?
MPass prints nothing: no paper tickets and no badges. The ticket on the phone is what gets scanned at check-in, and that is enough for most meetups. If your community likes badges, bring blank stickers and pens; for a demo day with investors, prepare the badges yourselves from your own list.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.
And the membership card?
Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
