Conference tickets for a talk, lecture series or study day, checked at registration
On the morning of a study day, the registration desk is two colleagues, an alphabetical printout and a queue that reaches the stairs at 8.50. With MPass you issue conference tickets by link beforehand, each delegate arrives with a QR code, and registration becomes a scan at the lecture theatre door.

The delegate’s ticket, from booking to the lecture theatre
The ticket gives the conference title, the date, the time registration opens, the lecture theatre and your organisation’s colours. Types can be Delegate at €25, Student at €10 and Speaker free, for example, each with its own number of places. The link sits in your announcement and on the society’s website; a delegate enters a name and an email or mobile number and saves the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Fees are paid to you: MPass takes no payment and no percentage, and the ticket states that the price is settled with the organiser.
| Example category | Displayed price | Places |
|---|---|---|
| Delegate | €25 | 150 |
| Student | €10 | 60 |
| Speaker | Free | 10 |
Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.
Three moments of your event
When the programme is published
You publish the programme and the booking link together. Speakers get the link from the committee, or you add them by name so that nobody on the podium has to fill in a form. The interface and the tickets exist in English, French, Dutch and German, handy for delegates from abroad.
Fees and paperwork before the day
Delegates pay the society by bank transfer, and many need an invoice for their employer. You issue it yourselves: MPass produces no invoices for participants and does not know who has paid. A paid column in your own spreadsheet remains necessary.
Registration, 8.30 to 9.00
Several phones scan side by side at the lecture theatre entrance, so the queue moves at walking pace. Name badges and conference packs, if you use them, are handed out behind the scan. Each ticket is accepted once.
How it works: 3 steps
Create the event
Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Conference and talk” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.
Share the link
By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Scan at the door
Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.
Example: an annual conference with 210 delegates
Take a learned society whose annual conference fills a lecture theatre of 210 seats. It opens 150 Delegate places shown at €25, 50 Student places at €10 and 10 free Speaker tickets. Fees arrive by bank transfer with the delegate’s name as reference, the treasurer sends the invoices and latecomers pay at the desk. Four phones scan at two doors in the half hour before the opening address. With 210 tickets the society is above the 150 of Essential and takes Pro at €49 a month excluding VAT, where up to five phones can scan. A lecture evening for 120 would fit Essential.
Who collects the ticket price?
You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.
What it costs
Free: 10 tickets a month, 1 active event, scanning on 1 phone. Essential (€19 a month excluding VAT): 150 tickets a month, 3 active events, 2 phones. Pro (€49 a month excluding VAT): 300 tickets a month, unlimited events, 5 phones, guest lists and tickets with no MPass mention. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card. More than 300 tickets a month? Write to us before you start.
Frequently asked questions
Does the ticket prove attendance for a certificate?
The scan tells the door team that a ticket is valid and has not been used. MPass does not issue attendance certificates or training credits, and it offers no detailed statistics. If delegates need a certificate, prepare it yourselves and hand it out at the end of the day, for instance at the registration desk.
Our study day has parallel sessions. Can delegates choose them when booking?
Not within one ticket: the form has no session picker. You have two options. Either one ticket for the day, with rooms filled on a first-come basis, or a separate event per workshop with its own number of places, where the delegate books a ticket for each. Mind the monthly ticket total in that case.
We run a series of six evening lectures. One ticket for the series?
A ticket belongs to one event and is accepted once, so a series is six events with six tickets. Regular listeners book each evening as it is announced. On Essential three events can be open at the same time, on Pro there is no limit. For members of the society, a membership card may be simpler.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.
And the membership card?
Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
