School fair tickets for parents, grandparents and children, issued by the PTA
For the summer fair, the PTA sends reply slips home in school bags, and half come back crumpled with coins in an envelope. With MPass, parents get their school fair tickets from a link in the class chat, grandparents included, and the volunteers at the gate scan a QR code instead of checking slips.

A fair ticket for adults, children and the meal
Each ticket shows the name of the fair or show, the date, opening time, the school and its colours or a pupil’s drawing. Types reflect a family’s day, for example Adult at €5, Child free and Meal at €12, each with a number of places, so the meal closes at the kitchen’s limit. Class reps share the link; a parent enters a name and an email or mobile number, once per ticket, and adds each one to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The PTA collects the money itself, in cash or by transfer: MPass takes no payment, checks none and charges nothing per ticket.
| Example category | Displayed price | Places |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | €5 | 200 |
| Child | Free | 250 |
| Meal | €12 | 150 |
Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.
Three moments of your event
Three weeks before: the note to parents
The school newsletter and the class chats carry the same link. Parents book for themselves and for the grandparents who are coming, one ticket at a time. One phone can hold the whole family’s tickets, so a grandparent without a smartphone is covered.
Counting meals for the kitchen
The barbecue team needs a figure by Wednesday. The places left on the Meal type tell you how many plates are booked, and you close the count when the butcher’s order goes in. Payment for meals is ticked off on the PTA’s own list.
Saturday at the school gate
Two parents stand at the playground entrance with their phones. They scan each ticket, families go through to the stalls, and a ticket shown a second time is refused. For the end-of-year show, the same scan works at the door of the school hall.
How it works: 3 steps
Create the event
Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “School fair” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.
Share the link
By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Scan at the door
Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.
Example: a summer fair with 270 tickets
Take a primary school whose PTA runs the summer fair in the playground. It opens 120 Adult tickets shown at €5, 90 free Child tickets and 60 Meal tickets at €12, entry included: 270 in all. Parents pay by transfer to the PTA account or in cash at the gate, and the treasurer keeps the list. Two phones scan at the gate and one at the food tent. At 270 tickets the fair needs Pro at €49 a month excluding VAT, with 300 tickets a month. There is no commitment, so the PTA can take Pro for the month of the fair only. A school expecting 500 visitors should ticket the meal alone.
Who collects the ticket price?
You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.
What it costs

Frequently asked questions
Do children need a ticket if they come in free?
Only if you want to count them. A free Child type shows how many children to expect, which helps with the bouncy castle rota and the ice creams. If numbers do not matter, ticket adults and meals only and let pupils in with their parents. You also stay further from the monthly limit.
What data do parents have to give, and where is it kept?
A name and an email address or mobile number, nothing more. A child’s ticket can be booked under the parent’s name. The data is hosted in the European Union and handled in line with the GDPR. MPass sends no promotional emails to the people who book.
Can we open bookings for the end-of-year show and the fair together?
Yes, as two events with their own dates, ticket types and places. Essential allows three active events and Pro has no limit. For a show in the school hall, set the number of places to the number of chairs: MPass does not number seats, so families sit where they find room.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.
And the membership card?
Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
