Fundraising dinner tickets: bookings by sitting for a spaghetti night or barbecue
The cook wants a number of covers by Thursday, and the bookings sit in four phones, a notebook behind the bar and somebody’s memory. With MPass, fundraising dinner tickets are booked through one link, sitting by sitting, and each cover is a QR code that is scanned when the family arrives at the clubhouse.

A dinner ticket per cover, sorted by sitting
The ticket states the dinner’s name, the date, the time, the clubhouse and your colours. Each type has its own price and number of places, so types can be named after sittings, for example Adult 6 pm and Adult 8 pm at €15, Child 6 pm and Child 8 pm at €8: a sitting closes when it is full. The link goes round the team chats; whoever books gives a name and an email or mobile number for every cover and stores the tickets in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The meal is paid to the club: MPass takes nothing, checks nothing and adds no fee.
| Example category | Displayed price | Places |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | €15 | 140 |
| Child | €8 | 60 |
Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.
Three moments of your event
Opening bookings after training
The link goes into every team’s chat on the same evening. A family of four books four covers, one after the other, in the sitting that suits the youngest. One booking gives one ticket, so the count of covers is exact rather than guessed.
Thursday: the order for the kitchen
You read off how many adult and child places are taken in each sitting and pass the figure to the cook. Latecomers who phone the chairman are added by hand, with a table number if you like to place the big groups in advance.
At the clubhouse door
A volunteer scans the covers as each party arrives and sends them to their table. Those who have not yet paid do so at the till on the way in. A cover scanned at 6 pm cannot be presented again at 8 pm.
How it works: 3 steps
Create the event
Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Fundraising dinner” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.
Share the link
By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Scan at the door
Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.
Example: a spaghetti night with 140 covers
Take a club that seats 70 in its clubhouse and runs two sittings: 140 covers. It opens 50 Adult places at €15 and 20 Child places at €8 for 6 pm, and the same again for 8 pm. Around half the families pay by bank transfer during the week; the others pay in cash at the till on the night, and the treasurer ticks every cover on her sheet. One phone scans at the door, a second at busy moments. With 140 tickets the dinner fits Essential at €19 a month excluding VAT, which covers 150 tickets a month. Every euro of the takings stays with the club.
Who collects the ticket price?
You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.
What it costs

Frequently asked questions
Can a family book a whole table in one go?
Not as one booking: there is no basket and no quantity field, so each cover is booked separately. For a table of ten, the simplest way is for the organiser to add the ten names by hand with the same table number, using the contact details the family gives over the phone.
Can guests choose between two dishes when they book?
Only through ticket types. MPass has no menu options or extra questions on the booking form; it asks for a name and an email or mobile number. If you serve bolognese and a vegetarian sauce, create a type for each, for example Adult vegetarian, with its own number of places.
What about takeaway portions?
Create a Takeaway type with its own price and number of portions. People who collect a meal show their ticket at the hatch, and once scanned it cannot be used again. Payment works as for every other cover: to the club, at collection or by transfer, since MPass handles no money.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.
And the membership card?
Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
