Sports tournament tickets: spectators, players and volunteers through one gate
A tournament day brings teams from ten clubs, parents, grandparents and thirty volunteers, all through one gate before 9 am. With MPass you issue sports tournament tickets by link ahead of the day, one type for each group, and the gate team scans phones instead of hunting through lists.

One tournament, three kinds of ticket
The ticket shows the tournament’s name, the date, the time the gates open, the club grounds and your colours. Types match the people on site, for example Spectator at €3, Player free and Volunteer free, each with a number of places. You send the link to the invited coaches, who forward it to the players’ parents; everyone enters a name and an email or mobile number and keeps the ticket in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. MPass does not collect the entry price or check that it was paid: the ticket says it is paid to the organising club, at the gate.
| Example category | Displayed price | Places |
|---|---|---|
| Spectator | €3 | 300 |
| Player | Free | 160 |
| Volunteer | Free | 40 |
Example categories, prices and numbers of places: you change everything. The price is shown on the ticket for information; MPass does not collect it.
Three moments of your event
When the invitations to clubs go out
Your invitation email to the visiting clubs carries the ticket link next to the schedule. Each coach passes it on. MPass does not register teams or line-ups: the draw, the pools and the team sheets stay in your tournament file.
The week before: the volunteer rota
Referees, grill crew, car park stewards: you add each volunteer by hand or let them take a Volunteer ticket through the link. On the day, the type written on their ticket tells the gate that they are part of the crew.
Tournament morning at the gate
The first teams arrive together. With several phones scanning, a squad of ten is through in a minute. Spectators pay their entry at the table beside the gate, and a ticket scanned once is not accepted again.
How it works: 3 steps
Create the event
Name, date, time, doors and venue. Choose the “Sports tournament” type, your colours or an image, then your ticket categories with a displayed price and a number of places.
Share the link
By WhatsApp, email, social media or on your website. Each person enters their name, picks a category and gets a ticket with a QR code straight away, to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Scan at the door
Your team scans tickets with their own phones, with no hardware to buy. A ticket that has already been scanned is refused.
Example: a youth tournament with 285 tickets
Picture an Easter youth tournament with eight teams of ten players. The club opens 80 free Player tickets, 25 free Volunteer tickets and 180 Spectator tickets shown at €3: 285 in all. Entry is paid in coins at the gate table, and the treasurer banks it on Monday. Four phones scan from 8 to 10 am, then one is enough. At 285 tickets the club is close to the ceiling of Pro, €49 a month excluding VAT for 300 tickets a month, with up to five phones scanning. A tournament with twenty teams and their families goes past that limit, and MPass is not the right tool for it today.
Who collects the ticket price?
You do. MPass does not collect the ticket price and does not check payment: the ticket shows the amount “to be paid to the organiser”. Your guests pay you as they always have, on the door, in cash, by bank transfer or on your card reader. In return there is no commission and no per-ticket fee, and the money goes straight to you. If you need online payment at the time of booking, a ticketing platform with payments will suit you better.
What it costs
Free: 10 tickets a month, 1 active event, scanning on 1 phone. Essential (€19 a month excluding VAT): 150 tickets a month, 3 active events, 2 phones. Pro (€49 a month excluding VAT): 300 tickets a month, unlimited events, 5 phones, guest lists and tickets with no MPass mention. No commitment, and a 14-day trial of the paid plans with no credit card. More than 300 tickets a month? Write to us before you start.
Frequently asked questions
Can coaches register a whole team with its players in one go?
No. MPass does not handle team entries or squad lists, and one booking gives one ticket. Either each player’s parent books a Player ticket through the link, or you add the players yourself from the list the coach sends. Fixtures and results are kept elsewhere.
Does MPass time races or print bib numbers?
No. There is no timing, no bib numbers and no results service. MPass covers who may come in: a ticket with a QR code for each spectator, player or volunteer, and the scan at the gate. For a running event or a timed competition you need a separate tool for the sporting side.
Is it worth ticketing spectators when entry costs €3?
That depends on what you want to know. A ticket gives you numbers before the day, which helps with catering and parking. If the count does not matter, ticket only players and volunteers and take spectator entry in cash at the gate. That also keeps you well within the monthly limit.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The ticket opens from a link and goes into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on the phone.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. The trial button shows you an MPass pass on your own phone in a minute, with no sign-up. To create an event and share its link, you then open a free account: 10 tickets a month are included.
And the membership card?
Organisations that run this kind of event often have members too. The same app creates their membership card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and an event can be reserved for members. All cards by activity.
